Hmmm... See! My Globe Tattoo is showing 3G Smart Signal? hihihi! I'm inside IBM Plaza and it seems that Globe 3G cannot penetrate the 7th floor. Well, that's only my case. Not sure of the other IT guys here.

Just like any cellphones, the Huawei USB modem can also be unlocked so you can use other sim cards. Globe Tattoo Broadband is the best in its class because it allows you to make phone calls aside from sending and receiving text messages. However, if you're stocked in an island (or building in my case) and there's no 3G signal, you wont be able to benefit the fast connection.

To unlock your Huawei usb modem (any brand will do), you need to download 2 applications. The code calculator and the writer.

1. The Code Calculator can be downloaded here.

Once you've downloaded the code calculator, click on the Huawei IMEI tab and type your IMEI and click CALC. You will see the flashing and unlocking code on the black box beside it. You will ONLY need the unlocking code.

2. The modem writer can be downloaded here.

Click on Please Select Com Port. This will detect your usb modem. Select it and click Unlock Modem. This will prompt you to type the unlock code.

Voila!!! You can now use other simcard to your Huawei Modem.

I haven't been able to blog or tweet lately. Not because I don't have enough time. I'm good at time management, that is. However, I want something that will enable me to do 3 task at the same time. Like being able to blog, tweet and post status in my Facebook.

I found out about Tumblr. Its very simple and pretty. Its just my personal journal so I'm not expecting followers. lol...

I wish I can update my blog with Tumblr too or vice versa...

Vacation with Ondoy: Part 3 Crocs Farm

Wow! Ang laking buwaya! Buntot pa lang katawan ko na. Buti na lang at skeleton na lang sya. Heto pic nya oh:

This dead croc is measured about 18 feet, was caught alive in the islands of Palawan, kumakain na daw kc sya ng tao kaya dapat na itong hulihin.

Di pa nakontento ang palawenyo, nagpadami pa sila ng buwaya. Heto pic ng mga baby na buwaya. Kahit baby, di sila cute.

Pagkatapos namin dumaan sa breeding area, punta kami sa cage ng grown up na crocs. May buhay pa palang malaking crocs... Mag-isa lang sya sa cage nya at nakahiwalay sa smaller crocs. Sa taas kami dumaan kc nasa ilalim sila. Napaka tahimik at hindi sila gumagalaw. Siguro naghihintay sila kung may malalaglag na tayo. lol!

Aaaaay! Nangangatog ang tuhog maglakad sa bakal na tulay. Lahat ng crocs nakangiti. Feeling ko talaga nag-aabang sila sa akin. Heto pa ibang pic nila.

Bukod sa crocs, madami naman palang animals sa loob ng park eh. Kala ko naman puro mga buwa lang.

Wow! Sobra na yata kami naaliw sa mga buwaya. Ngayon lang namin napansin na mainit ang panahon.... at parang walang ulan.... Asan na si Ondoy?

Bwisit ka talaga. Kung kelan hindi natuloy ang underground river tour, saka sya nawala.

Anyway, heto ang ilan sa mga picture ng mga hayop na kasama ng mga buwaya... lol

Natapos ang tour namin. We had dinner in Bilao't Palayok Restaurant. Next day, we went back to Manila. We were delayed for about 2 hours.

Vacation with Ondoy: Part 2

Sunday ng umaga. Wow! Syempre excited ako. Ang aga ko gumising. Paikot-ikot ang pwet ko at di mapakali. Naka schedule kasi ang pagpunta namin sa St. Paul's Subterranean Aquatic National Park. San yun? Underground river po sa Palawan!

Tawag ako sa reception. "Hello, what time ang tour?" sabi ko.

"Sir, mamayang 7am pa po. Alas 5 pa lang. Mag breakfast po muna kayo ng 6am" sabi nung magandang receptionist.

Ngak! Maaga pa nga. Sige, ligo muna ako. Hehehe! Unahan ko muna mga kasama ko maligo.

Ayan! Umuulan na naman. May kutob akong baka hindi matuloy ang tour.

Nag breakfast muna kami mga 6:30am. Ayun, natapos kami mga past 7am pero wala pa rin advice. Maulan pa rin. Tinamaan ka naman ng lintik oh! Sino ba may balat sa pwet jan?

Balik kami sa room namin at naghintay ng tawag...

Riiiiiingggg! Rinnngggg! Kurriinnnng!

Ayan naaaaah! Excited and lahat... Lapit kami sa phone...

"Ahem... Hello?" sabi ko.

"Sir di po tayo matutuloy. City tour na lang po tayo ng 1pm ha?"

"Oh k." sabi ko. Sabay simangot. Haaay... Ganon talaga ang buhay!

Kaya niyaya ko ang buong group para lumabas. We have to enjoy our vacation. I said with full conviction.

We rented 2 tricycles and we got a bargain of city tour for only P700 each. Our first destination is Honda bay. We didn't get much picture about it kc umuulan.

Next stop is Vietnam Village. Heto ang ilan sa mga picture.

Then, we ate lunch in, of course where else?, Vietnam Restaurant! It's really different from Phobac or Pho-a in Manila. The taste is very vietnamese. lol!

Oh by the way, we caught a small turtle a long the way. However, when we got back from lunch, the turtle escape. I was sad... =(

We hit the road again and to the Butterfly farm we go. Here are the pics:

Ayun, derecho kami ng Crocodile Farm. Yeppee! Nakalimutan ko yung bago name ng park, ang haba kc kaya Crocodile farm na lang. Pero may conservation and protection something pa sa name yun.

Wow! Ang laking buwaya! Buntot pa lang katawan ko na. Buti na lang at skeleton na lang sya. Siguro part 3 na natin ito? Masyado na mahaba... lol!

Vacation with Ondoy: Part 1

I think this is the right time to post this story, now that typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng left our country.

Buti na lang at nakarating kami ng Puerto Princesa bago pa lumakas ang ulan. I thought we left Ondoy in Manila. But we're wrong. Ondoy came with us and apparently he was clinging on the plane's tail. lol!

Kahapon, nagpunta kami sa Balinsasayaw restaurant. It is very famous for their Balinsasayaw soup and Balinsasayaw sisig. Habang si Ondoy ay sumasayaw sa liliw ng malamig na hangin sa labas, we were sipping the hot and delicious Bird's nest soup also known as Nido soup. Balinsasayaw or Nido soup came from a bird's (balinsasayaw bird) nest. Locals get it from the caves of El Nido. That's why they call it Nido soup or Balinsasayaw soup. Kaya Ondoy, kahit sumayaw ka dyan, happy pa rin kami,

Balinsasayaw sisig is different. And NO! it doesn't come from that poor bird's body. He's too small for god's sake. It's a mixture of squid, prawn and other seafoods with tomato and cream sauce. Its a little spicy and very tasty. Makes well with Nido soup.

After having a wonderful lunch, we went to see the Baybay or baywalk. We took an odd-looking tricycle. I cant describe it. Something like a jeep but its not. Here's the pic.

So we got to the Baybay and then its Ondoy again. We saw this huge bird, and it's not the balinsasayaw bird, it's the peacock of Puerto Princesa. Darn! We're supposed to take pictures near the big Peacock! @*$&%^@*#! Haaaay! So ayun, naghintay kami... 30mins... Hintay pa rin... Pero ayaw... tumila... ni... Ondoy!!!

We decided to go back to our hotel. Pero! Walang tricycle!!! Parang di nila kami nakikitang pumapara! Ahuhuhu! Enjoy pa rin kahit mejo basa na sa ulan.

It took us almost an hour bago kami napansin ng tricycle. Akala pa siguro ni Manong niloloko namin sya nung pinapara namin from a distance...

Nagkape muna kami sa Caffe Mauro. Di ko kilala kung sino si Mauro. May isa pang kapihan dun, kay Ito's coffee hauz. Di ko rin kilala si Itoy. Si Ondoy, kilala mo ba?

So far masarap naman ang coffee nila. Bagay pag nabasa ng ulan.

Pagkatapos, bumalik na kami sa hotel. Pahinga muna. Aba! wala pa kaya ako tulog.

8:30 kami tumawid ng kalsada pa mag dinner. Dun kami nagdinner Kinabuch! Sino si Buch? Malay ko! Basta "Kinabuch" ang name ng restaurant. Nagdala kami ng payong kasi umuulan. Ayaw kami tantanan ni Ondoy. Pagpasok namin ng restaurant. Ayun, huminto ang ulan. Pang-asar talaga!!! Isinusumpa kita Ondoy!

Hayun! Lamon dito tapos inom ng beer. Tapos natulog na kami. Bukas na ulet ang Kwento. Hmmpf!

Back in my 6th grade, I joined a regional finals for an art competition. There I met a lot of kids like me. lol! One of them became my all time crush. She's holding a big teddy bear roaming around the competition area. She's tall for a girl at her age and has a long and shinny black hair crawling down to her waist. Ooooh! I got madly in love with her. BUT we were from different schools and region at that time. I'm from the North and she's from the south.

When I went to High School, I was suprized to see her. I didn't know we were classmates. I introduced myself to her and asked her if she still remember me. Unfortunately, she cant recall. I didn't bother to remind her where we met.

We graduated high school and we didn't see each other again. Until now, she doesn't know how I feel for her and when we first met.

Recently, I was checking in facebook and saw her again. After a decade of searching there she is. BUT she's in Singapore. She's now a permanent resident of Singapore. I don't know when she's coming back.

If I was given a chance to go to Singapore, I'd definitely ask her for a date and tell her how I feel. I'm definitely in search of her for a long time and Singapore will make it possible. This is a new kind of adventure that involves a person whom I will share my thrill and fun.

Here's my plan:

1. Around 5am, I'll call her to meet me in the Merlion statue, wearing a jogging pants. Coz she's living near the vicinity. Afterwards, I'll give her chocnut, coz it's her faverite back when we were in high school.

2. We're going for a jog around Marina Bay and wait for the sun rise. We'll take pictures and talk about what happened to us.

3. After that we'll have a kaya toast and kopi in Raffles Place. I can still remember how she drinks her coffee back when we were doing our projects in high school.

4. Once we're done with breakfast, we'd head to her place to change clothes. Its too early in the morning and shops aren't open yet so we'd go for a river tour. In less than a day, I will get to see Singapore's history, heritage, culture, architecture and national landmarks like Raffles landing site, The Merlion and the Esplanade. And it's never gonna be the same because I have a special someone beside me.

5. Oooh! It's lunchtime. Where's the best place to dine? Hmmm... How about Pierside Kitchen?

6. We'll go for a shopping from Orchard to North Bridge to Riverside to Little India to Bugis to Geyland Serai until we get tired.

7. In the late afternoon, I'd us to have a nice massage in one of the most premier spa in Singapore.

8. After a relaxing massage, its time to eat again. This time, we'll try the Sky dinning. They say, Sky dinning is one of the first in the world. You'll get to eat in one of the Worlds First Glass-Bottomed Cable Car Cabins.

I guess I would end the night with a wine asking her if we can continue our lost love interest. I may be stupid but this is the only time I can have to say whatever I have in my heart.

Well, if meeting with her won't happen according to my plan, at least I got to see Singapore! Why not go to Zouk and party all night? I'm sure I'll find someone for me there... Haha!

Memoirs of Ondoy

At 10:35am, we arrived at the Puerto Princesa Airport. It was raining, but not that hard. I received a text message from my sister saying my mom is worried about me and wanted me to call. I called my mom. She's worried that my flight might be cancelled. I said, "we're already in Palawan, safely."

She told me to take care because the typhoon is going to get tough. The flood downstairs is up to the knee level and she's afraid that it might go inside our apartment.

I told her not to worry and then I hung up.

I don't know what happened next. I stay tunned to the internet news, facebook and twitter. There I saw the distruction brought by the super typhoon Ondoy.

It's Krrunch Time, get Playful!

I just arrived in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Its my 3 day vacation and I've thought a gazillion times if I'm gonna blog this story or not.Anyway, here's my entry to Nuffnang's blog contest. It's about my friend and how we had Krrunch on our most memorable experiences. I know I shouldn't be blogging about this but what the heck? This happened some time ago and I'll try to write as detail as I can.

Everytime I see Pringles I remember Luis, my childhood friend. We grew up together in a small village in San Mateo, Rizal. Luis lives about 2 blocks from our house. He's the youngest in his family and among the kids in the village we enjoyed our company. We both went to the same school. Our first baon is also the same. We were always seatmates and always partners in crime. If got scolded by our teacher, he got scolded too. When I'm in trouble, he's in trouble too. lol! Too bad for him coz I always get in trouble.

We have a treehouse beside our home. My dad built it so we can play Tarzan. I remember cutting Pringles can so we can make spearhead out of it. I would carry a slingshot, while he carries a bow and arrow. We were like indians hunting for wild animals. We had Krrunch with other kids every time we shot them with chips. And they would come back and throw us stone. Sabi nga nila pag binato ka ng bato, batohin mo ng tinapay. But then, we were different, coz we would throw them chips instead of tinapay. We could laugh all day with that.

When I'm in trouble, he's in trouble too. lol! Too bad for him coz I always get in trouble.

During the summer, we would go to the farm with my dad. We'd harvest ripe watermelons and fresh corns. We'd also pick duhats and put it in an empty can of Pringles. We'd fly kite during the afternoon and Pringles is still a part of it. We're using the can for the string attached to the kite. Its easier to hold it and it makes a lot more Krrunch.

Sometimes, my mom would bring us to Fiesta Carnival in Cubao. Fiesta Carnival is already gone. I'm not sure if you'll still remember the 2 seater plane that rotates and goes up and down. I really enjoyed that ride. Maybe, I had a pilot instinct in me or maybe I should have become a pilot. He's scared of riding an airplane unless he's holding a can of Pringles. He's crazy over it. I'm laughing my ass off everytime he's teary eyed riding an airplane.

And he would always make Krrunch of me coz I stumbled everytime I bike.

We also bike along the village. But I'm not good at it. He does! And he would always make Krrunch of me coz I stumbled everytime I bike. I got bruises all over my face, my knee and hands. When I'm injured, he would always hitch me or he'd bring a sidecar. lol! I'm always into accident and good thing he's always there.

Aside from the bike crash, there's also an instance where we got chased by a big carabao. I was wearing red shirt, red short, red cap, red flip flops and carrying a red Pringles when a big carabao saw me. At first it didn't mind us, until my friend shot the carabao with my sling shot.Of course the carabao got mad at us. We were running really really fast. Until we climbed a tree. I didn't even noticed that I was on the tree until the carabao is gone. We were Krrunch-ing afterwards.

Oh I miss that poor guy. Later did I know, he had a heart problem. That might be the reason why he's scared of riding a plane. He was diagnosed of a bad heart disease. I would always visit him with my mom in a hospital in Marikina. We would always bring Pringles to him and he would feel alright. I'll cut an airplane out of the Pringles can and would play with him in his hospital bed.

Luckily he survived his disease. And I'm glad that he will be able to make it to our grade school graduation in only a few months away. We had to study hard and do our research and assignments together.

One time, we're in the library doing some research for our science project. I got my empty Pringles can with some holes in it and he got some colored papers. Something is missing and I think we left it in our treehouse. Since, he's the bestest in biking, he went home to get it while I was busy writing our project.

30 minutes past by and he's still not there. Another 30 minutes and he's not there. I don't know what happened to Luis until I went home.

My mom told be that Luis was in a hurry climbing the treehouse looking for something. When he's about to go down, he made a wrong step... He fell to ground head first. I cried all day wishing that I should have been the one going back the treehouse. I cried all night wishing that my bestest friend would not have been gone.

In his wake, one of the things I brought with me was Pringles coz it's our favorite snack. And every time I would see Pringles, I would always remember him. For me, Luis would always comes to life in every Pringles. It took away his fright when we ride the airplane; makes a good string holder for kite; it stops the pain when you crashed a bike, makes a good spearhead, its nicer to throw chips than tinapay, makes a dull moment to an everlasting Krrunch.

Its been raining here in Manila but it wont stop us from going out of town. Today, September 26, 2009, around 5am at NAIA Terminal 2, we're waiting for our plane. lol...

Yes! We're too early... haha!

So, we're going to Puerto Princesa, Palawan and its located somewhere here...

We'll be staying for 2 nights for a quick get away. We're just backpacking our way to Puerto.

We'll be arriving at around 9am. After lunch we'll be going for a city tour. Around 3pm, if its not raining, we'll be going to the beach and catch some dolphins, if there are dolphins out there. lol! For dinner, maybe we'll try the very famous Bird's Nest Soup...

Astroboy : The Movie

My favorite anime is now on the big screen. Yes! Astroboy is my childhood cartoon hero. When I was a kid, I used to have an Astroboy shirt and hat. I used to look like him too. I've got big eyes and pointed hair. lol

Anyway, Astroboy or 鉄腕アトム Tetsuwan Atomu - Mighty Atom in english, is a Japanese manga series and television program first broadcast in Japan from 1963 to 1966. The story follows the adventures of a fictional robot named Astro Boy and a selection of other characters along the way.

Astro Boy is the first Japanese television series that embodied the aesthetic that later became familiarized as anime. It originated as a manga in 1952 by Osamu Tezuka, who is often reputed as the "god of manga". After enjoying success abroad, Astro Boy was remade in the 1980s as Shin Tetsuwan Atomu, known as Astroboy in the United States and other Western countries, and again in 2003. In November 2007, he was named Japan's envoy for overseas safety. How to fix DTMF tone on your X-Lite

I was recently invited by Google Voice and in order for it to get activated, Google will call me and have me enter an activation number. All my hopes almost collapse when my X-lite softphone is not sending DTMF tone when I try to enter the activation number.

Here's how the x-lite looks like:

To fix this, you have to tweak some of its configuration. Lets just say that you have already configured your Xlite and SIP information on the system and you can now receive calls, click Read more below to see the full instructions.

1. From the main X-lite panel, dial "***7469" and then press talk button. This will open the hidden advance configuration.
2. Type "DTMF" and then click apply filter button.

3. The first entry will be “system:dtmf:force_send_in_band”. Make sure this is set to “1” by double clicking the entry. (I set this to 0 since 1 doesn't make me send DTMF tone. I don't know the reason why. Maybe its different from pc to pc.)
4. Type "2833" in the filter box and click Apply filter button to find the second configuration.

5. The first entry will be “rtp:2833:enabled”. Make sure this is set to “1”. (I also set this to zero.)

If in case setting the values to 1 doesn't fix the problem, try 0. Mine works when I set it to zero. If you need any help, you go to the X-lite website and find the help page. You can also email me or Call Me!

How to make free calls to US and Canada

I have not been able to blog lately because of a very tight schedule. I got sick for almost a week, I guess its because of fatigue. And then I had some things came up unexpectedly. I hope this will get resolved soon.

Anyway, before I end the month of August, I want to share a simple trick on how to get your US phone number, make free outgoing and incoming calls to US and Canada.

Procedure on how to make free calls to the US and Canada.
1. Get a VoIP registration, usually a SIP service. With SIP service, you can use your mobile phone with WIFI to receive incoming and make outgoing calls by installing apps. But that's another story.

2. Get a US DID number. This number will direct incoming calls to your SIP account.

3. Setup your Softphone.

To get the detailed instructions, click the Read more button below.

1. Go to www.iptel.org and register for a SIP service.
2. Download x-lite and install it on your PC.
3. Follow the instructions on IPTEL's website on how to configure your X-Lite softphone.
4. Once you have registered with Iptel, you need to get your US phone number. There's a free DID number but it's located in Washington DC. You can get from IPKALL. Follow the registration process and they will email you with the approval along with your new US phone number.
5. Now that you have your US phone number you can receive incoming calls from your friends in the US and Canada for free. But if you want to make outgoing calls, you need to sign up with Google Voice.

6. Your US number from IPkall is important in registering for Google Voice. Google will call your US phone number and ask you to enter an activation code. Once its activated, you can now make outgoing and receive incoming calls for free.

If you're having problems activating your account, the DTMF tone might not be working on your x-lite softphone. To fix this, click here.

I've been busy for a while and I have not been able to tweet, blog or tumblr for the past weeks.

Today is July 31 and Globe is releasing the new iPhone 3Gs.

Haaaay! I'm thinking if I'm going to get my reservation...

I have bills to pay and I'm out of the budget.

Kidding...

I'm in Mega mall foodcourt when I wrote this. I'm hungry as f*ck and I wanna eat a lot today. I had just finished my workout upstairs, did some RPM and it seems my stomach is too empty that I can eat every food I can see.

Its good that I get to eat a lot and not get fat at all...

I was pissed off earlier when I got home. I was going online to find news about the death of Michael Jackson and I can seem to get any websites. My wireless router looks fine and my dsl connection are all green but it doesn't allow me to connect. Well, this is caused by a "fail whale."

Michael Jackson is dead and he takes a piece of the internet. During the first 5 hours of breaking the news on the internet, social networkings like Facebook and Twitter are hardly accessible. This is due to Fail whale.

Fail whale happens whenever the site is overloaded.

I thought it was just a joke that Michael died. But its not. The other day, I was watching onling TV and saw a news clip that Michael will have a come back concert in London and I was surprise to see how look like on video. He's wearing a mask and dark sun glasses. He looks sick on that video.

Faceb0ok is a social networking site that enables users to connect with the rest of the world. Its a personal networking site and should not be abused in anyway since office network is for business use only.

Many, if not all, in our office use Facebo0k to send message, share ideas and experiences to other users. Its really sad that we will no longer be able to make this possible during office hours.

Recently, I received an email invitation about an MTV Blog Contest. I know I'm not a good blogger and why would I join such contest, right? (I know a lot will agree) Anyway, I got interested of joining. Why not? My writing isn't bad. Is it? lol!

I was asked to choose a category and I chose VJs and Celebrities. Among the categories, I have to choose 1 question. And here's my question. (huh! I feel like I'm answering a beauty contest question. what am i doing here?)

If you had the privilege to follow a VJ around for a day, who would you choose and why?

And here's my entry entitled:

MTV VJ Utt is still there?

Honestly, I haven't been able to watch MTV Asia these days and I never thought VJ Utt is still there. Really? OMG! I think I'm lost. I can still remember when he's with Donita, Mike, Sarah and Sonia. He's like the youngest (looks the youngest if not) lol! But that was 1999ish or something?

Wow, its been almost a decade I think when I first saw him on MTV? Oh my gosh! He's like the institution... Maybe we should erect a monument for him. Huh?

Well, if I had the privilege to follow a VJ around for a day (that would be 24hrs, right?) I would choose Donita! Kidding... Of course its VJ Utt. Otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned him in the first paragraph, right? hehehe!

What I'd like to find out about him is his passion for his career. He's been in the business for a long time and he still manage to be in his top shape. He seem to have loved by his career in return for his love for his career. I wish I could be that way. Coz many people in our age seems to jump from one job to another. They cant be satisfied with one.

If I'd start following VJ Utt say 5 o'clock in the morning, I'd probably wake him up and take pictures of him while his eyes are still close, goes out of bed (i'm sure girls would want to find out what he's wearing in the morning when he wakes up), takes a bath (if he's taking a bath), eat, and his other morning rituals.

I'll probably follow him when he goes to the gym, swim, wake board, go on board the MTV set, eat lunch, have coffee, play video games, meet the press, meet with his team... blah blah blah... and best of all I'll tweet every minute I see what he's doing. I know everyone will envy me. Huh? Huh? Huh?

I love photography and one thing I'd be doing is to have a 128Gb memory card on my digicam and take pictures of him every single movement... I mean every single movement... I think I have to get 10 spare batteries... perhaps 20?

I also do body painting, you can check out my blog and see my works. And I'm thinking if we still have spare time following Vj Utt, I'd probably paint his body. I'll make him disappear in the wall or in the garden. I know that sometimes when you're in the spotlight, you'd also think how does it feel to be not the center of attraction. Being able to blend with others without the feeling that you're above everyone.

Vj Utt is definitely THE man that I'd love to follow and know what he does best. Its not everyday that I get to follow a celebrity and I'll make sure its gonna be THE most wonderful 24hours with Vj Utt.

I'm tired... Lets wrap up! Guys com'on. Don't follow Vj Utt anymore. 24hrs is over... Let's find another one to stalk! ciao!

This is cool! I went to search something on Google and I was surprise to see its logo. Then I realize, hey June 12 is Independence Day. Google shows Philippines Flag design on its logo.

The Philippine Declaration of Independence occurred on June 12, 1898 in the Philippines, where Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo (later to become the Philippines' first Republican President) proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War.

The declaration, however, was not recognized by the United States or Spain, as the Spanish government ceded the Philippines to the United States in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in consideration for an indemnity for Spanish expenses and assets lost.

The United States recognized Philippine independence on July 4, 1946 in the Treaty of Manila.^[1] Independence Day was observed in the Philippines on the July 4 anniversary of this event until, upon the advice of historians and at the urging of nationalist politicians, PresidentDiosdado Macapagal signed Republic Act No. 4166 into law on August 4, 1964, designating June 12, which had previously been observed as Flag Day, as the country's Independence Day.^[2]

And today is a big day to celebrate the birthday of Goldilocks. She's gonna be the next American Idol in 2010. You'll see her dance at the end of this blog entry. She's the captain of our team and she's the best. But she lives half across the globe. So I can only send her virtual cakes.

Like this one from Goldilocks. Everytime I celebrate my birthday, I always go for Goldilocks birthday cakes because their cakes are really yummy. You can buy it fresh from the oven. You're the number 1 Goldilocks, because any birthday or celebration wont be complete without the delicious cakes you can offer.

I'm not sure if Stephanie would like this cake, I hope Goldilocks can produce Peanut butter and Jelly cake flavor coz this is her favorite. I remember last time she went here, she made us a special Peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Can you make the thumbnail a little bigger?

My Captain asked me to enlarge a thumbnail. Is there a big thumbnail? I asked myself.

I'm still searching a way to enlarge a thumbnail. I know its pretty much easy, considering that its just a picture. But the software I'm using is only limited to certain task.

So I have to workout my brains. While I'm looking at pictures, I found this. Well, there is one existing thumbnail and it is really big, I mean huge!

Apparently, this thumb is located in Paris and its the biggest so far in the world.

Now I have an idea. This is should be the start of a new thumbnail. I wont be replacing the old thumbnail I have. But I'm gonna use the fish eye tool. It allows me to enlarge a thumbnail without sacrificing the weight of the picture and the overall file.

Ha! I know every thing is possible.

MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) on EDSA (Epifanio delos Santos Avenue) will stop its 24-hour operation on Wednesday, after just two days of implementing the scheme to service commuters working on the graveyard shift, a spokesperson for the rail system said.

Train operations will start earlier, at 4 a.m., Blancalor said.

But the MRT-3 will be on extended operations. The last south-bound train will leave the North Avenue station at 12:10 a.m., while the last north-bound train will leave the Taft Avenue station at 12:30 a.m., said Lysa Blancaflor, MRT-3 public information officer.

MANILA, Philippines—Liquefied petroleum gas retailers raised their prices by P1.50 per kilogram effective midnight Monday night due to an increase in the LPG international contract price this month.

This raises the price of an 11-kg LPG cylinder by P16.50.

In a phone interview, LPG Marketers Association (LPGMA) president Arnel Ty explained that the latest increase was due to this month's higher international contract price, which rose by $43 per metric ton from $394 per MT in May.

Good thing Aura is also hungry when I got to the office. So the first thing we did was to take lunch early. lol!

I know that their Crackling Liempo is delicious and I ask Aura to see for herself how it tasted.

Aura and I ordered Crackling Liempo, rice and tomato salad as our side dish, buko sherbet for dessert and ice tea for refreshment.

New Design

I've been thinking of changing the design of my blog...

Hmmm...

You see, I haven't been blogging for quite some time now and the last time I changed the theme of my blog was a year ago. I used fresh benok - the design of my old myspace/multiply account.

Now, I'm thinking of having a different design. Something that would keep "katingisip" as the brand and I'll just use benok as the author. I want something that has a logo on top, a recent post as the first highlighted entry, on the side would be a video entry and then a side bar that shows the list of entries and some labels. Something like this...

Green is not my fave color but I like it on my blog. I'd probably use something blueish...

RPM

I just got off the gym and I was soooo tired.

I never thought RPM was tiring.

I was virtually breathless when the class ended.

My knees are shaking and my butt is aching because of hard seat.

It was fun though.

The class is almost full. I entered the room 5 mins before 7 and I got the 15th bike.

Nobody's seating in front of me and a lot of people are took the back.

I didn't know it was RPM.

I thought it was just the regular cycling which is easier yet more exciting.

RPM is different.

It made me really tired...

Although its like cycling where you pedal along with the music, RPM's intensity is different.

Or its just the bike I'm using? I dunno...

I got tire! That's it...

Japanese Dimsum

Aura ate pizza, James is absent and I have a lot of things to do coz its Wednesday. So I've decided to buy Japanese dimsum, 1.5 liter of Tropicana Fruit juice and my favorite Tostas bread. My reports seemed to overflow on this day and with addition of special projects, I don't think I have time to go around and buy food later on.

But its ok because I can balance my work and time. I perfect in multitasking.

Aura calls me "halimaw" when it comes to this kind job.

Even though times are harder, my company is very generous in giving treats. It makes us employees become inspired in our endeavor. I was out last Friday so I got to receive two Friday treats. A notebook and a recycled shopping bag.

I like the shopping bag because I can use it without carrying a lot of plastic. I can request the store not to my stuffs in plastic instead I use my own. Less plastic; less trash. I got to help mother earth from preventing pollution.

At the end of Bonifacio High Street is the Puma store. I noticed a group of red circles hanging on the stores. lol... they're on sale too. But they're opening late and no group of people waiting. Check them out too...

1 May 2009 -- The situation continues to evolve. As of 23:30 GMT, 1 May 2009, 13 countries have officially reported 367 cases of influenza A(H1N1) infection.

The United States Government has reported 141 laboratory confirmed human cases, including one death. Mexico has reported 156 confirmed human cases of infection, including nine deaths.

The following countries have reported laboratory confirmed cases with no deaths - Austria (1), Canada (34), China, Hong Kong, Special Administrative Region (1), Denmark (1), Germany (4), Israel (2), Netherlands (1), New Zealand (4), Spain (13), Switzerland (1) and the United Kingdom (8).

Further information on the situation will be available on the WHO website on a regular basis.

WHO advises no restriction of regular travel or closure of borders. It is considered prudent for people who are ill to delay international travel and for people developing symptoms following international travel to seek medical attention, in line with guidance from national authorities.

There is also no risk of infection from this virus from consumption of well-cooked pork and pork products. Individuals are advised to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water on a regular basis and should seek medical attention if they develop any symptoms of influenza-like illness.

At last!
My Globe Duo line is now working!
Well, it was working 3 weeks ago when I first used it.
I can call any landline in the Metro for free and unlimited use.
However, there's only one number that I cant really really make a call.
Its my brother's wired landline line he subcribed alsoo from Globe.

SO what I did was to make a call last Holy week.
It was a whole week of holiday that's why I had to wait for Monday to follow up on the issue. I did not, however, I called on a Tuesday thinking that it might have been resolved on Monday, but it WASN'T.

I called up a week after and it still not working.

Then I called up another week after and dang it... still not working!

Well, I've been a subscriber of Globe for more than 5 yrs now and they're not taking actions? OMG!

Last call I made was Wednesday, April 29, 2009. I told them that they better take actions about it or else, I'm gonna cancel all my Globe transactions I have including my family, and friends... That's overrated but what the heck...

Until yesterday... Oh my my...

After 3 years of waiting... 3 weeks I mean... Its finally fixed.

What is swine flu?
Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. Swine flu viruses have been reported to spread from person-to-person, but in the past, this transmission was limited and not sustained beyond three people.

Is this swine flu virus contagious?
CDC has determined that this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human. However, at this time, it not known how easily the virus spreads between people.

What are the signs and symptoms of swine flu in people?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with swine flu. In the past, severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with swine flu infection in people. Like seasonal flu, swine flu may cause a worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.

How does swine flu spread?
Spread of this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is thought to be happening in the same way that seasonal flu spreads. Flu viruses are spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing of people with influenza. Sometimes people may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.

How can someone with the flu infect someone else?
Infected people may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 7 or more days after becoming sick. That means that you may be able to pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick.

What should I do to keep from getting the flu?
First and most important: wash your hands. Try to stay in good general health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. Try not touch surfaces that may be contaminated with the flu virus. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Are there medicines to treat swine flu?
Yes. CDC recommends the use of oseltamivir or zanamivir for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with these swine influenza viruses. Antiviral drugs are prescription medicines (pills, liquid or an inhaler) that fight against the flu by keeping flu viruses from reproducing in your body. If you get sick, antiviral drugs can make your illness milder and make you feel better faster. They may also prevent serious flu complications. For treatment, antiviral drugs work best if started soon after getting sick (within 2 days of symptoms).

How long can an infected person spread swine flu to others?
People with swine influenza virus infection should be considered potentially contagious as long as they are symptomatic and possible for up to 7 days following illness onset. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods.

What surfaces are most likely to be sources of contamination?
Germs can be spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. Droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person move through the air. Germs can be spread when a person touches respiratory droplets from another person on a surface like a desk and then touches their own eyes, mouth or nose before washing their hands.

How long can viruses live outside the body?
We know that some viruses and bacteria can live 2 hours or longer on surfaces like cafeteria tables, doorknobs, and desks. Frequent handwashing will help you reduce the chance of getting contamination from these common surfaces.

What can I do to protect myself from getting sick?
There is no vaccine available right now to protect against swine flu. There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza. Take these everyday steps to protect your health:

* Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
* Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
* Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
* If you get sick with influenza, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

What is the best way to keep from spreading the virus through coughing or sneezing?

If using gel, rub your hands until the gel is dry. The gel doesn't need water to work; the alcohol in it kills the germs on your hands.

What should I do if I get sick?
If you live in areas where swine influenza cases have been identified and become ill with influenza-like symptoms, including fever, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, or vomiting or diarrhea, you may want to contact their health care provider, particularly if you are worried about your symptoms. Your health care provider will determine whether influenza testing or treatment is needed.

If you are sick, you should stay home and avoid contact with other people as much as possible to keep from spreading your illness to others.

If you become ill and experience any of the following warning signs, seek emergency medical care.

In children emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

* Fast breathing or trouble breathing
* Bluish skin color
* Not drinking enough fluids
* Not waking up or not interacting
* Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
* Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough
* Fever with a rash

In adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

* Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
* Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
* Sudden dizziness
* Confusion
* Severe or persistent vomiting

How serious is swine flu infection?
Like seasonal flu, swine flu in humans can vary in severity from mild to severe. Between 2005 until January 2009, 12 human cases of swine flu were detected in the U.S. with no deaths occurring. However, swine flu infection can be serious. In September 1988, a previously healthy 32-year-old pregnant woman in Wisconsin was hospitalized for pneumonia after being infected with swine flu and died 8 days later. A swine flu outbreak in Fort Dix, New Jersey occurred in 1976 that caused more than 200 cases with serious illness in several people and one death.

Can I get swine influenza from eating or preparing pork?
No. Swine influenza viruses are not spread by food. You cannot get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork products is safe.

Global Pandemic: Swine Flu

MEXICO CITY—Mexico readied a “temporarily closed” sign—taking the drastic step of ordering a suspension of nonessential federal government and private business activity as it tried to squelch a swine flu epidemic.

The World Health Organization ratcheted up an alert to Phase 5 and warned that “all of humanity” is threatened.

The dire warning showed that health officials are very worried about the potential for massive numbers of deaths worldwide from the mutated virus, even though the epidemic so far has claimed only a confirmed eight lives in Mexico and one in the United States. Roughly 170 deaths are suspected of having been caused by the virus in Mexico.

Switzerland and the Netherlands on Thursday became the latest countries to report a swine flu infection.

Swiss authorities said a 19-year-old student was stricken with the virus but was mistakenly released from a hospital and then hastily readmitted.

The Dutch government confirmed the country’s first case—a 3-year-old child who recently returned from Mexico.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — There’s only one Ricky Hatton, as his admirers constantly sing to anyone who will listen. Good thing, because if there were any more Ricky Hattons his devoted followers in England might never have time to do anything but sing.

The problem for Hatton is there’s also only one pound-for-pound champion in boxing. His name is Manny Pacquiao, and all he did his last time out was give Oscar De La Hoya such a beating that De La Hoya decided it was time to retire.

That fight not only introduced Pacquiao to a lot of casual boxing fans, but prompted oddsmakers to make him a 2-1 favorite when he and Hatton meet on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) in a 140-pound (63 1/2-kilogram) fight that is the first big bout of the post-De La Hoya era. Despite the lopsided odds, both Hatton and his fans fervently believe he will be the one with his gloves raised when the fight finally ends.

“I’ve been here before,” Hatton said. “People say (I’m) over-hyped, overprotected, a fat, beer-drinking Englishman. Well, I’m going to shock the world again.”

A Hatton win might not be quite enough to shock the world, but it would deal a blow to the Philippines, where Pacquiao is such a national hero that there is talk about him running for president when he gets out of boxing. But while the Pacman was always huge at home, it wasn’t until he stopped De La Hoya that many in American boxing began giving him his due as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the game.

It’s a mythical title, but Pacquiao has won enough real titles to justify his coronation. Though the Hatton fight is for a lightly regarded IBO crown, winning at junior welterweight will mean Pacquiao has won titles in six weight divisions, beginning at 112 pounds (51 kilograms).

“If that happens, people will want to put my name in boxing history and that will be my legacy,” Pacquiao said.

The two fighters got together on Wednesday for the final pre-fight press conference at the MGM Grand hotel-casino, where both had spectacular performances the last time they were in the ring.

For Pacquiao it was the win over De La Hoya, but Hatton showed off some himself a few weeks earlier by stopping Paulie Malignaggi in front of thousands of his ever-singing fans.

Hatton’s only loss came when he was stopped by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the 10th round of their December 2007 fight, and his record and fan base were enough to get him a guarantee of $8 million for the scheduled 12-round bout.

“Manny has not fought anybody that’s going to put as much pressure on him with as much force and strength and power and hand speed,” Hatton said. “I’d like to think I’ll be too much for him, but I think it’s going to a wonderful fight.”

Hatton : New Tricks for Manny

LAS VEGAS — Ricky Hatton is so confident of beating Manny Pacquiao that he thinks the only way he will lose is if he doesn’t show up during fight night on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

“Not turning up,” Hatton told the Filipino journalist who asked him what would prevent him from winning against Pacquiao at the MGM Grand.

While Hatton’s response drew laughter from those gathered around him – he was seated on the ring stairs engaging reporters from the US, England and the Philippines in a lively Q&A session – his succeeding answers would reveal that he wasn’t horsing around.

Hatton admits he remains the Hatton of old, one whose ultra-aggressive punching enabled him to steamroll over opponents with ease.

The Manchester native, however, insists he has been fine-tuned a bit for his big fight against Pacquiao.

“I am still aggressive, still a body-puncher and still as ferocious as ever. I don’t think I have changed a great deal. I am just a little bit more polished in certain areas. LAS VEGAS — Holding court in his swanky suite at the 60th floor of The Hotel at Mandalay Bay moments after arriving here Monday night, Manny Pacquiao spoke the language of supreme confidence as he revs up for the biggest bout of his life – a crossroads clash with British banger Ricky Hatton – this weekend at the nearby MGM Grand.

“I have done my part in training and I will just make sure that I maintain this condition until the fight,” Pacquiao told Manila-based scribes. “I am prepared for whatever Hatton brings to the ring.”

It is common knowledge that Pacquiao loves opponents who rush inside but in the event Hatton decides to box from a distance – or even engage him in close quarters combat complete with roughhousing – the pound-for-pound king insists he is ready.

“The people know that my style is in-and-out fighting, waiting for the right time to deliver the power shots but I am also prepared to engage him at close range as I trained heavily for that kind of situation,” said Pacquiao.

Jj's birthday

April 27 is Jj’s birthday. She just turned 28, I think. Lol! And since JJ lives close to Jojo, I went to her place, uninvited and greeted her happy birthday.

She just woke up… hehe

I’m really crazy. But she was happy when I dropped by her place. She thought I forgot it.
How can I forget it, it’s also my Mom’s birthday. Jj is like a mother to me… kidding!

Anyway, later that day, we went to the church, Jj’s church coz she’s a Christian and I’m a catholic. I heard the mass twice, one in Catholic and one in Christian. There’s no difference actually because they’re preaching the same words – they got it from the holy bible.
The only difference is the way they do it. Catholic does it in the old way; Christian does it in a loud way. That’s another topic. Let’s go back to Jj’s birthday.

After the mass, we went to SM Bacoor. Good thing its still open at 9pm. The target of our stomach is Pizza Hut. Its been quite some time since I ate pizza and so as Jj. We agreed before hand to eat there. It was JJ’s idea and I seconded. Jojo, Jj and I – should I change my name to Benben since their names are repeating too? – went inside and order. We waited about 5 to 15mins. We were really hungry…

I’ll be the first to admit that we sometimes report on Twitter bugs
that aren’t exactly Earth-shattering. But for better or for worse,
we’ve sort of gotten used to the occasional downtime, lost profile
images, and other quirky phenomena that strike Twitter as it goes
through its never-ending growing pains. But this crosses the line.

This morning Twitter made a post to its official status blog stating that it was, among other things, having problems with phone settings, profile photos, and misdelivery of direct messages.
You know, the ones that are supposed to be private. Twitter is blaming
the problem on an “underlying data inconsistency in our service”. An
update to the blog post at 5:55 AM this morning stated that the issue
had been fixed, and that Twitter was in the process of “putting
everything back in its right place”, which is apparently still ongoing.

Its a crazy day today. After more than a week of things I lost I'm still depressed. It's Saturday so there's nothing to do but sleep. BTW, I bought a new phone. I loaned from HSBC, my good'ol credit card. Good thing they've got 0% for 12 months. My new phone is Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. Its really cool coz its an all in one gadget. Its got mp3, wifi, digicam and video player. I can even connect it to a TV screen.

Aside from that, I'm going gaga over "You changed my life" movie. I downloaded a divx version on Torrent and watched it. The file wasn't that bad, except for the spider webs in the beginning of the film.

A gift from Austin

It wasn't easy lossing a lot specially if you've worked hard for it. What's make it really harder is that it happened on my birthday. Darn! What have I done to experience such tremendous crisis.

They say when you lost something, something big will replace it.

3 days after my birthday, I was dozing off in my table when someone called my attention. Two of the managers in Austin are here and they're looking for me. They handed my 1 legal size white envelop and a purple envelop (with greeting card of course). They said it came from Stephanie, my boss in Austin.

Above is the card content. Its very touchy and I wanted to cry at that time but i couldn't. I'm not sure why my tears weren't falling. Come to think of it, I have really cried since my birthday. I opened the white envelop and to my surprise, it contain $120. $20 came from Kaia and $100 from Stephanie. I'm really really thankful for what they did. I didn't expect that they would do it for me. I can't thank them enough. I told myself that I will do really good and when the time comes that I will visit them in Austin I'll re-pay them of their good deeds.

Stephanie told me that something happened the night of Tuesday, March 10. Her neighbor went to visit her house and gave her Beyonce's authograph and picture. I think God paid her for what she has done to make me feel better.

I thank her so much and I thank God for sending people to my rescue.

Yup, today is my birthday. I'm really thankful that I'm still alive. I'd like to thank Daisy and Chie for the delicious cake they gave me. James for greeting me and waking me up. (Naalimpungatan ako dun ah...) Thank Jojo for the pillow. I know its really comfy. I feel like I wanna sleep on it every minute.

Thanks to my little brother Egoy who lend me some cash so I can pay the bank. I wish I can re-pay you all in the future.

Aside from the above mentioned, they took my wallet that includes cash, 3 ATM and 4 credit cards. They were also able to withdraw from my savings and checking account. My 3 post dated cheques bounced and I had to pay penalty. I incurred penalties both the bank and my cheque recipients.

Now, I'm starting all over again. No cellphones, laptop and gadgets. I need to buy a new toothpaste again...

5th day workout

Jay's, my trainer, goal is for me to gain strength and muscles. My only goal is to be healthy because my work is just seating and doing nothing but kill time in front of the computer. Its basically a none-tiring job. My mind gets tired but not body.

Today our training will concentrate on my shoulders. After my 10-minute treadmill, we went upstairs to carry some heavy weights. Its my 5th day of training and if you could only imagine by body's been aching up to now. My biceps, chest, abs, my yummy butt and my legs are oh soooo painful.

But yes its true, no pain, no gain - my trainer's motivational approach. The one in the picture is not me. Obvious! His muscles are well developed already. By November, I could be him... I did the exercise same in the picture. At first, its got only 1 plate. Dunno how heavy it was but I can carry it. I did 15 reps raising my shoulders. "Dont bend your elbow! Stay straight!" said my trainer. "k, k, k fine..." Rest for a while and then he added another plate.

"Can I have some water first?" Gulp... gulp... gulp...

Darn! This thing is getting heavier... after the second set...

3rd set goes and in came another set of plates...

Man... this I ain't gonna carry... My fingers are slipping off the bar...

But hey, I did it.

After that I cant even raise my hand straight to reach the sky! lol...

Feels great huh?

My New Laffy

I've been waiting for the time that I could carry a laptop as light as a 250-page-hardbound book and as small as an A4-size paper. Finally, its here! The HP 2133 mininote!

Choosing the right one is a problem because you need to consider a lot of things. And since I'm not that techie, I only consider 2 things. First is the internal specs. Whether its fast enough to play games or if it can store tons of mp3 and hd-movies. Second is the physical appearance - see if the look of your laptop will fit your personality.

I bought this in Silicon Valley in Park square 1. But before I decided to buy this, I had been roaming Market Market and Glorieta to look for the laptop specific to my needs. It was a Saturday when I searched for my laffy, about 2pm. My first option was MSI Wind because of its screen size and the processor. However, at that time there are no available in any stores and I cant another day for my laptop. Before going home I decided to drop by a store where they sell Hp computers. Search is over! I asked the salesman if they have it and there's 1. I have my luck at the end of the day.

I chose HP mini among the line up of ultraportable PCs in the market. The specs is good aside from being an HP-branded, I've heard a lot of good reviews about this laptop. The physical appearance is also awesome and was done to look modern and professional. With its silver-brushed body-case, it will surely prevent finger prints to stick on the body. Unlike the competitor umpc, their body's are glossy and it looks like your holding a 3-year-old-kid toy. One thing is that you don't need to spend extra cost for a G-mask.

I call my laptop Laffy coz its small and its really light-weight. Its like my new toy where I can carry around without being noticed. Specially in the office since bringing personal laptop is not allowed, I can bring it without being confiscated by the guards. Now I can maintain my blog without staying at home in front of my big pc...

Its almost 7pm now and I'm writing this blog with my new laffy. I've got to sleep now since I was tired searching for the baby laptop. For a full specs of the laptop, you can visit the HP website.

One of the small things you can buy in Baguio - kulangot ng intsik translated as Chinese Boogers is a sugar based, sticky, chocolate-colored candy packed in small coconut shell. It taste like sweet cocojam with different twist.

This is one of the pictures I took when I went to Pangasinan few days ago.

I was waiting for the right time to take pictures so I could have a good shot on the sunset. I'm in Lingayen Gulf at that time. Beyond the Lingayen Gulf is the South China Sea and I thought it was the best place to take pictures.

The picture was taken about 30 minutes before sunset.You can still see the rays of the sun peeping out of the magnificent clouds. It reminds me of someone who peeks at you while you sleep. My sunshine was there before the clouds came in. And now he just peeked at me behind the clouds. I know my sun will emerge again to give me a great sunset.

At that moment, I felt lonely again in the stretch of the long Lingayen beach. The sun is not showing up but its stil bright. I know the sun is there for me eventhough its not showing up. Its like two lovers who share the same feelings even when they're distant apart...

It was a boring day when I decided to pack my things and head north to Pangasinan, my mom's birth place. I've got my Olympus Digital Camera, PSP and N70 - my gadgets so I can survive the long bus-ride. Exactly 10:18am when the bus left Cubao terminal. I was seated in seat# 18, riding on a bus number 1818 and coincidentally it was the 18th of May. I don't know whats with 18 during those times. All I know is that I felt different. Almost 5 hours later, I arrived in Lingayen. I had no idea where to eat so I decided to go to a near fastfood. I found Jollibee and ate my lunch. After that I went to Lingayen Beach, just behind the Provincial Capitol Center of Lingayen.
I sat by the beach and with my tired feet i took some pictures of the sea. Lingayen Gulf stretches across towns from Alaminos to Dagupan and this is where Douglas McArthur landed when he returned to the Philippines in WW2. The shore was magnificent. As I waited for the sun to set, I managed to write my name in the sand. I know it will be washed by the sea when it touches it, but at least I got to print my name on it even if its for a while.
As I sat by the sea shore, I contemplated the beauty of the sea. I felt like I'm alone in the sea trying to search for something. Beyond the horizon, I saw nothing but endless water and sky above. Will I find what I'm looking for in this place? I'm not certain if I will. I know this wonderful experience will end in a couple of minutes and I have to savour this whilst its here.

As I sat by the sea shore, I fell in love with the sun that shines. Its like eyes that opens and greet you good morning everyday. I fell in love with the sea. Its like a voice that whispers your ears saying "I'm happy now that I have you" or "Thank you for everything and for being so nice to me" and "I love you."

Its almost dusk and my waiting is almost over. I will get to see my sunset. I know that my sunset will come soon. I know that someday my sunset will comfort me and wipe tears. My sunset will be forever. For me, sunset is not the end, but just the beginning. For every sunsets comes beautiful sunrise. That's why its great waking up in the morning special when your sunshine is there beside you.

Now that my sunset is here, I will cherish my sunshine more. May it be sunset or sunrise, it will still be the sun that shines and brightens your day. I think I know what I left in the north.... I left it with my beautiful sunset. I wish I could go back with my sunset. Maybe someday we could be together. Maybe soon...

Hundred Islands

Day 3 of our trip to Northern Luzon - Hundred Islands. Past 6am when we left Alaminos Port, we rented a boat going to Hundred Islands. We went to the 3 major islands - Governors Island, Childrens Island and Quezon Island. We stayed there until 1pm.

Sunrise in Alaminos

Day 3 of our Trip to the Northern Luzon - Alaminos. We're on our way to Hundred Islands in Alaminos about an hour and a half motor-ride from Lingayen when we left around past 4am, I got my cam and took my earliest sunrise pictures. I took the first picture on the road going to Alaminos while the rest were taken on the port side of Alaminos. After a long motor ride we ate our breakfast near the Pension House where we rent a boat going to the Hundred Islands.
